Sosaku-ningyo (Art Doll) of a Maiko apprentice geisha by Tsujimura Jusaburo II (Kawasaki Kazuo, b. 1948), executed in Jusaburo’s distinctive style, white chirimen silk crepe face and painted features, silk hair done in a a youthful style with silk crepe wraps, flower balls, dangling ornaments and a tassel, wearing a furisode-style kimono of vintage silk crepe with a chrysanthemum and flowing water design, artfully arranged, articulated hands expressively positioned, and  a simple peach-colored obi tied in back, with a single geta-clad foot extending out, signed on the bottom, Jusaburo is the 2nd in the lineage founded by Tsujimura Jusaburo I (1933-2023), also noted for his stylized single-operator puppetry and dance.
