Japanese Ichimatsu boy by Tokuzan (Iwamura Shokensai I, 1892-1968) classic Shokensai boy dressed in a vibrant blue haori outer jacket with matching inner kimono bearing the kikyo (bellflower) crest, with white checkerboard field bearing sacred treasures motifs, brown pleated hakama trousers with horizontal strips, gold brown silk brocade obi, fan, white tabi socks, excellent face in Shokensai’s style with broad full cheeks, lightly pigmented gofun, inset glass eyes, painted hair, painted details, well formed hands with nicely separated fingers, painted nail details, white tabi socks, signed “Tokuzan” seal: Yuomoto Tokusei, minor foxing and staining to kimono, overall fine condition, 20-1/4” High
