Japanese Ichimatsu Boy by Takizawa Koryusai II (Yoshitoyo, 1888-1966), dressed in formal haori and matching kimono in a rich blue with bold plaid pattern and bearing the omodaka (water plantain) crest, secured in front with a white silk himo tie cord, wonderfully expressive Koryusai face, lightly pigmented gofun, inset glass eyes, painted details, hair in sumi-ink lines imitating the fashionable zangiri style, well formed hands with delineated fingers, painted nail details, palm creases, silk brocade hakama trousers with sacred treasures motif, white tabi socks, fan tucked into brocade obi at waist, bearing signature of Koryusai and seal of Takizawa Yoshitoyo, excellent condition, 20-1/2” High
