Rare and Impressive Musha-ningyo group depicting Jimmu Ten’no (the legendary first emperor of Japan) and two attendant figures, Fugima and Doshin, a commissioned set of exceptional scale and quality with original presentation boxes bearing signature and seal of Maruhei Okiheizo of Kyoto, all with impressive accesories, textiles, and weaponry, their hair uniformly executed in an archaic style, all with slightly pigmented gofun, inset glass eyes, long moustache and chin beards, Jimmu seated on a red lacquered Chinese style throne, sword with fine metal blade, Fugima and Doshin kneeling on faux animal pelt rungs, minor flocking, small crack to Jimmu right cheek, loss to court cap, overall fine condition.
