Japanese Ichimatsu Girl By Iwamura Shokensai I (Toko, 1892-1968), classic ichimatsu with lightly pigmented gofun face, inet glass eyes, human hair, painted details, wearing a vibrant red figured silk kimono with supplementary embroidered designs of flowering kiri (paulownia) and royal ox cart designs, hands well rendered with painted details, white tabi socks, silk brocade obi, hakoseko purse, obi age and obi jime, with lacquered wood display base, signed “Toko”, Shokensai was one of the 9 Tokyo-based artists that contributed to the 1927 Friendship Doll exchange, 10 of Shokensai’s dolls were accepted, minor fading, overall excellent condition. 16” High.
