Large-scale Japanese Gosho-ningyo depicted seated wearing layered silk robes, holding a carved and painted wood shishi lion dog in his right hand, sporting a large gold lacquer court cap, carved of wood and covered in a fine white gofun with painted details, silk fiber hair, seated on a red silk cushion with kinran brocade center panel, the kimono of gold with a green scroll-foliate design with red trim, with a white under kimono also with red trim, old repairs, cracking, (kimono a later replacement), Figure 16” High (Overall 19” H).
