A10B002 Japanese Meiji-era daki-ningyo (huggable doll) by the important Meiji doll artist Ito Hisashige, classic construction with pivoting neck, wrist and ankle joints, realistic child's face with slightly open mouth, tongue, teeth, and inset glass eyes, silk fiber hair, soft body with voice box, composite construction covered in a pigmented gofun (shell white), painted details, finely formed hands and feet, wearing original under garment, paper body signature cloth bearing Ito Hisashige seal, sexed male figure, outer garment of Meiji-era chirimen silk crepe, black silk obi tie belt, ruffled bib, cap with black silk trim, minor chip to right thumb, voice box inoperative, hair replaced, overall fine condition.
